ScoutDog Studios designs products and original artwork that celebrate the Dog-losophy and Cat-itude in you and your pet, and works to inspire and advocate the ethical treatment of all animals. A Denver-based product design and manufacturing company, ScoutDog Studios creates and produces canine and feline inspired artwork,
greeting cards, jewelry, home décor and other products.
Jennifer Griggs Sebastian, a graduate of the University of Colorado and native of Boulder, established ScoutDog Studios in April 2002 after deciding she could no longer work for 'The Man'. Prior to founding ScoutDog Studios, Sebastian worked for more than eight years as a Web developer and project manager for Colorado-based Media News Group and its subsidiary newspapers, including The Denver Post and The Oakland Tribune. Sebastian lives in North Denver with Matt the Husband, Samson the Puppy, Izzy the Cat, and Molly the Monkey (Siamese Kitty).
ScoutDog Studios was first created as a freelance website and print design company. In the Spring of 2003, while trying to sell their home, a realtor saw a painting of Scout and asked Sebastian if she would paint her dog. More commissions started flowing in and Sebastian entered her first art fair in June 2003. Next she started to display art and products in local pet stores, doggy daycares, gift boutiques and art galleries. Now everyday is devoted to the creation of new products that celebrate dogs and cats.
ScoutDog Studios made its national debut at the National Stationery Show in New York in May 2004. ScoutDog products are now sold wholesale to more than 75 stores nationwide as well as directly to retail customers on the ScoutDog Studios website located at www.scoutdogstudios.com.
