Stephen Bailey
A full-time freelance illustrator and designer, Stephen's main focus is on imagery for advertising although he still enjoys designing apparel for DC Enterprises, Pac Sun, Cherokee Uniforms, and Fortune Fashions Ind.
His advertising illustrations include art for product packaging, realistic food and beverage illustrations, character design and development, fun and exaggerated perspective people, logo design and development, and toy and game illustrations. Recent clients include: Kellogg's, McDonalds, Unilever, ConAgra foods, Weider International, Schiff Nutrition, CostCo brand food and drug packaging-Kirklands and Nature Made, Purina, Six Flags theme parks, Keebler, Bayer Corporation, Beech-Nut Baby Food, and Hip Hound Couture.
All projects start out pencil sketched on paper as Stephen feels this is the best way to work on developing ideas. Pencils are then scanned into the computer and either created using Illustrator and/or Photoshop. He tries to keep his work looking as "traditional" as possible and not like computer generated art. Stephen considers the computer a tool, but not a means to produce the work as he wants to be in complete control of the finished product.
Stephen currently resides in Youngstown, New York, with his wife Fay, and two sons, Benjamin (10) and Jack (5). Besides producing art for a living, he enjoys boating, fishing, hunting, camping, travel, gourmet cooking, scuba diving, gardening, miniature scale modeling, and free weight/cardio exercise. With the rest of his "free" time, he is an active member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Niagara River Fishing Association, and a parent leader in the Cub Scouts of America.
